Leiyao Chang
Responsible for the founding of Showcase AI, establishment of Showcase AI as a non-profit, website creation and implementation.
Born in Taiwan and raised in Hawaii, Leiyao currently attends ‘Iolani high school, where he is a member of the school basketball team, the Model United Nations club, and is the principal cellist of 'Iolani School Orchestra and Hawai’i Youth Symphony I. In his free time, he likes to mentor younger students and volunteer in the community. He has designed and taught a basic coding course at the local library, organized a creative science poster contest with Hawaii CyberSpace Academy, and established "Home in Hawai'i", an organization that brings fun workshops and after-school tutoring sessions to elementary schools. He also enjoys volunteering for HUGS, a non-profit organization that supports families with children who have life-threatening or chronic diseases. As the chairman of Showcase AI, he hopes to "showcase" the creativity of "artificial intelligence" to the world with the help of Showcase AI, challenging and surpassing the impossible.

Albert Ko
Responsible for event promotion, coordination, and sponsor management.
Albert is a rising sophomore at Punahou School, where he participates in Punahou Speech & Debate, the Punahou Math Team, and Punahou Symphony Orchestra as a violist. He was recently the principal violist of Hawai’i Youth Symphony I. He is also passionate about linguistics & the diversity of human language. He was the first from the State of Hawai’i to qualify for the Invitational Round of the North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad. In addition, he volunteers with a school-based club to provide services at local nursing homes. He is interested in learning more about artificial intelligence and its linguistics/natural language processing capabilities.

Hannah Kwak
Responsible for filing reports, managing appointments, and handling correspondence
Hannah Kwak is currently a tenth grade student at ‘Iolani School. She was born in Seongnam, South Korea, yet spent all of her childhood on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. She enjoys playing viola in the Iolani Orchestra and Chamber Music programs, as well as in the Hawaii Youth Symphony. In the past year, she was a speaker at the TEDxIolani Event. Her speech discussed the impact of Toxic Productivity in our modern world. Hannah is also a member of the ‘Iolani Math Team, and tutors young students at a nearby elementary school.

Shion NishimuraInternational Language Director & Student Representative for Japan Responsible for promoting and coordinating the competition, arranging translators, and seeking sponsors.
Born in Taiwan and raised in the US, she is currently a senior at River Hill High School. She enjoys reading, traveling, photography, helping others, and meeting people of different backgrounds. She has tutored classmates in math and science and has interned at Language Services Hawaii where she performed administrative tasks and coordinated interpreters. Shion looks forward to helping spread AI creativity throughout the world by using her knowledge and experience in the interpretation field. |
Simon HoStudent Representative over China
Responsible for representing Showcase AI in international China, event promotion, coordination, and sponsorships. Simon is the student representative of International Asia. He is a senior at Shanghai Taiwanese Business School. He likes fitness, basketball, cycling, and playing the trumpet on weekdays. He is interested in business operations, and spends his winter and summer vacations as a trainee in department stores to learn the art of financial profit and loss, logistics, shopping mall operations and public relations. |
Benjamin Kim
Benjamin currently attends ‘Iolani High School, where he is a member of the school chess team, the Math team, the classics club, the track team, and is an Iolani math tutor. In his free time, he likes to play piano, compose music, and participate in speedcubing. He has contributed to the international online chess tournament world tour as team Hawaii and has participated in national and international chess tournaments, and has participated in a few non-profit organizations by performing the piano. He has experimented with programming a multiplayer snake game using java, and also has taken interest in programming and applying it to music composition along with discovering new mechanisms/conditionings based on math and MMA to apply for certain piano techniques.

Yun ChangTech Mentor
Yun is a PhD student at MIT. His research interest is in computer vision and perception for robotics. He has collaborated with research institutions such as NASA and the Army Research Lab in demonstrating autonomous robot exploration in rough environments. He recently won the Best Paper Award from the Transactions on Robotics Journal for his paper on multi-robot localization and mapping. |
Yen-Chou PanConsultant

Shin ChangArt Director
Shin graduated from MIT, majoring in biological engineering and minoring in both music and design. She is currently a medical student at the John A. Burns School of Medicine, where she is on the leadership teams of the JABSOM Artists and Musicians (JAM) and the Medical Innovation and Design (MIND) groups. She is interested in the intersection of medicine, technology, art, and music. In her spare time, she likes to play the violin, paint, and cook. |

Grant Farhall is the chief product officer at Getty Images. He is responsible for Getty Images’ overall product strategy and vision. In his role, Grant oversees the company’s e‑commerce platform and websites, user experiences, customer research and SEO strategy, with the aim of making it easier for Getty Images’ customers to discover, license and share powerful content to connect with their audiences, and ultimately drive impact for the business.
His career at Getty Images spans a decade, including his most recent role as Vice President of E‑Commerce. In addition, Grant has held several positions with iStock, including as General Manager where he helped develop and execute a turnaround strategy for the business by simplifying the product and better aligning to customer needs.
